Justice Tashi Rabstan appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of J&K and Ladakh High Court


Justice Tashi Rabstan has been appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh as the Current CJ Justice Ali Mohammad Magray is going to retire this Month.

As per the official Notification issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Law and Justice, Department of Justice  Justice Tashi Rabstan shall perform the duties of the office of Chief Justice of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh with effect from  08th of December 2022 consequent upon the retirement of Justice Ali Mohammad Magray (Current Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.)

The Notification reads as "In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint, Shri Justice Tashi Rabstan, senior-most Judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, with effect from 08.12.2022 consequent upon the retirement of Shri Justice Ali Mohd Magrey, Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh."

Justice Tashi Rabstan will be the first from the Ladakh Division to hold the Office of  the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
