Lawyers forced to skip lunch since different benches in Supreme Court rise at different times

Earlier Today, Mukul Rohatgi submitted before Hon'ble CJI that lawyers are forced to skip lunch since different benches in Supreme Court rise at different times; and in reply to which CJI said that he will look into it
CJI DY Chandrachud then said that he will raise this issue with his colleagues during the next full court meeting.

The Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud on Monday assured the Bar that he will look into the issue of different benches in the Supreme Court rising at different times on miscellaneous days (Mondays and Friday), something which has been inconveniencing the bar.

This was after Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi flagged the issue and highlighted as to  how it was causing difficulties to lawyers many of whom were being forced to slip their lunch.

"On miscellaneous days like Mondays and Fridays, every court follows their own board. Some rise at 1pm, some at 2 pm and some not at all. In this process bar does not get to have lunch," Rohatgi said.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta raised another issue  and stated that diabetic lawyers were affected the most. CJI Chandrachud then said that he will flag the issue to his colleagues during the next full court meeting. "I will flag this issue to my colleagues when we have a full court meeting. All courts must rise at one time only," he stated.

"Yes, so that some can take their insulin injections etc," SG Mehta added.
